This directory contains the OGLE catalog of star clusters in the SMC
fields observed in the course of the OGLE microlensing project and
results of analysis of these clusters.

This directory structure is as follows:

README                  - this file

paper.ps.gz             - Postscript version of paper describing the
                          Catalog: Pietrzynski et al. Acta Astronomica
                          1998, 48, 175 (without the catalog)
 
clusters1.txt           - list of clusters found in algorithmic search
                          (computer readable version of Table 2)

clusters2.txt           - list of additional clusters found visually
                          (computer readable version of Table 3)

catalog/                - directory with the Catalog

  catalog_alg.tar.gz    - gzipped tar file with postscript catalog of 
                          clusters found in algorithmic search

  catalog_sup.tar.gz    - gzipped tar file with postscript catalog of 
                          clusters found visually

  individual/           - directory containing individual pages of
                          the catalog:

                          cat*.ps.gz - gzipped postscript pages of
                          clusters found in algorithmic search

                          sup*.ps.gz - gzipped postscript pages of
                          clusters found visually


fcharts/                - directory containing finding charts of clusters

   fcharts.tar.gz       - gzipped tar file with postscript finding charts

   individual/          - directory containing individual finding charts:

   phot.tar.gz          - gzipped tar file with photometric data files

   individual/          - directory containing individual photometric
                          data files: smc????.dat. Format is given below.

cmds/                   - directory containing color-magnitude diagrams
                          of clusters

   cmd_bv.tar.gz        - gzipped tar file with postscript V - (B-V) CMDs

   cmd_vi.tar.gz        - gzipped tar file with postscript V - (V-I) CMDs

   individual/          - directory containing individual CMDs

     v-bv/              - subdirectory with V - (B-V) individual CMDs:
                          smc????bv.ps.gz

     v-vi/              - subdirectory with V - (V-I) individual CMDs:
                          smc????vi.ps.gz


The photometric data files contain the following columns:

DB_no    V    B-V    V-I   sig_B    sig_V    sig_I

where

DB_no  - number in the database for easy identification with "BVI Maps
         of the SMC"

V, B-V, V-I  - photometry data,

sig_B, sig_V, sig_I - standard deviation of measurements in the  B, V
                      and I-band

WARNING!!! "Magic" numbers: 99.999 for magnitude and 9.999 for color
and standard deviation denote "no measurement".

multiple                - directory containing results of search for double 
                          and multiple clusters in the SMC.

                          systems in the SMC clusters.
