Index of /ogle/ogle2/var_stars/smc/cep/catalog
This directory contains the distribution of the "OGLE Catalog of Cepheids
from the Small Magellanic Cloud".
***WARNING***
The content of this archive was revised on Apr. 1, 2000 due to revised
calibration of the OGLE photometric data. A small systematic effect in
the original calibration was found, mapped, and applied to the data.
This effect, caused by some scattered light in the instrument resulting
in non-perfect flat-fielding, affected only East/West edges of the
frames and amounted to 0.08 mag in the I-band and 0.05 mag in the B and
V-bands at the very edges of the field. On average the effect was very
small - of the order of 0.01-0.02 mag.
We are very grateful to Dr. D.S. Graff (Ohio State University) for
pointing out to us this systematic effect.
See also the file README.PL for revised coefficients of PLC and PL
relations.

The directory structure is as follows:
README -- this file
README.PL -- revised coefficients of PL and PLC relation for SMC.
subdirectory paper/ -- Paper: "The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment.

Cepheids from the Small Magellanic Cloud."

describing the catalog (Postscript version).

the SMC.
table2.dat -- red clump stars E(B-V) reddening in the SMC fields.
table4.dat -- cross-identification of the same objects in the Catalog.
table5.dat -- number of Cepheids, all stars and stars with I_0 < 17.5
detected in the SMC fields.
dmcep -- directory with double-mode Cepheids data.
socep -- directory with second overtone Cepheids data.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Catalog of each field has the following structure (e.g. catalog of
the SMC_SC1 field):
subdirectory fcharts -- finding charts of individual objects; gzipped
Postscript version. The file name is: object_id.ps.gz
The finding chart is a 60"x60" part of the I-band
frame, centered on the star. White cross marks the
star. North is up and East to the left.
subdirectory phot -- photometry of individual objects:
subdirectory I -- photometry in the I-band
subdirectory V -- photometry in the V-band
subdirectory B -- photometry in the B-band
The file name is object_id.dat.gz in each of these
subdirectories. Each file contains 3 columns:
Hel JD, magnitude, error.
cat_smc_sc1.ps.gz -- Postscript version of the Catalog of Cepheids
of the field SMC_SC1.
smc_sc1.tab -- Table with basic data for Cepheids in the field
SMC_SC1. The columns are:
ID number, RA(2000), DEC(2000), P(days), T_0 (HJD) -
2450000, log10(P), I, V, B, B-V, V-I, W_I, E(B-V), I_0,
V_0, B_0, (B-V)_0, (V-I)_0, R_21, \phi_21, Classification.
T_0 corresponds to maximum brightness, magnitudes are
intensity means, colors are differences of mean
magnitudes transformed independently to the standard
system. Magic numbers 9.999 or 99.999 mean "no data".
Any presentation of the scientific analysis or usage of the data from
the Catalog of Cepheids from the SMC should include the appropriate
reference(s) to OGLE paper(s).
